Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni explained the team's decision to name Joe Milton as the starting quarterback over Tanner McKee against the New York Giants. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Sirianni stated that starting Milton gives the Eagles the best chance to win immediately, citing the quarterback's arm talent, athletic ability, and confidence since joining the roster.
Sirianni noted that the decision was finalized after film review with general manager Howie Roseman and the offensive staff, despite initially supporting McKee earlier in the week. He also confirmed that no coaching role changes were made and defended withholding the announcement publicly until necessary to maintain a competitive advantage.
