A writer who covers the Green Bay Packers floated a long-shot idea Wednesday that the team could pursue Philadelphia running back Saquon Barkley after the Eagles dealt a starting offensive lineman.
Wendell Ferreira of A to Z Sports suggested an unlikely trade scenario proposing that the Green Bay Packers acquire running back Saquon Barkley from the Philadelphia Eagles. The hypothetical move follows Philadelphia trading Cam Jurgens to Baltimore and Lane Johnson's retirement. Ferreira argues the trade could serve as a valuable exercise if the Eagles fall out of contention before the November 10 deadline.
Under Ferreira's proposed concept, Green Bay would acquire Barkley and a 2027 fifth-round draft pick in exchange for running back Josh Jacobs, two 2027 draft picks, and a 2028 fifth-round selection. The Packers currently face offensive struggles on the ground with Jacobs on the commissioner’s exempt list and receiver Jayden Reed sidelined for the season.
