The Story in 60 Seconds

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Elandon Roberts reflected on his dramatic 2024 goal-line play against the Dallas Cowboys during an appearance on Cam Heyward's Not Just Football podcast. Roberts recalled anticipating that running back Rico Dowdle would attempt to jump, prompting him to switch positions with Patrick Queen to leap over the line and force a fumble. However, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recovered the ball, and Dallas went on to win 20–17.

Roberts believes Pittsburgh might have re-signed him in free agency if teammate Miles Killebrew had recovered the loose ball instead. After playing for the Las Vegas Raiders under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham last season, the 11-year veteran rejoined the Steelers and has since worked his way back onto the squad after initially being released during roster cuts.
