The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a victory on Sunday that has, at least for the time being, silenced some doubt surrounding their early offensive struggles.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Trai Essex pointed out recurring defensive mistakes following Pittsburgh's 30-27 home victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. Speaking on The Snap Count podcast, Essex noted that communication lapses and unexplainable secondary errors seen in previous seasons reappeared during the game despite the overall win.
Under new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, the unit has surrendered 60 points across the first three games of the season. Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow completed his first 13 passes against the defense, though linebacker Patrick Queen continues to lead the unit with 23 tackles and an interception this year.
