Former Steelers OL Thinks It’s ‘Still Too Soon’ To Insert Max Iheanachor Into Starting Lineup

Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Max Starks stated on the In the Locker Room podcast that it is still too soon to insert rookie first-round pick Max Iheanachor into the starting lineup. Despite calls from fans to start Iheanachor following offensive line struggles and heavy pressure on quarterback Aaron Rodgers in Week 2, Starks advised waiting until around Pittsburgh's Week 9 bye week to make the transition.

Pittsburgh's offensive line has seen difficulties across the unit, including Dylan Cook, Troy Fautanu, Mason McCormick, Zach Frazier, and Spencer Anderson. If promoted to the starting lineup, Iheanachor is projected to replace Cook at right tackle, though Starks maintains the team should allow the rookie more time before facing upcoming opponents like the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.
