‘I Was Devastated’: Mike Tomlin Reveals His Welcome to the NFL Moment

Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin revealed his "welcome to the NFL" moment during an appearance on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce. Tomlin recalled his first preseason game as a Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary coach in 2001, where his team lost to the Miami Dolphins on a final-play Hail Mary pass, leaving him devastated and sitting alone in his car.

Tomlin noted his shock at how head coach Tony Dungy and others brushed off the loss. Following his departure from the Steelers after a playoff loss to the Houston Texans, Tomlin transitioned to broadcasting on NBC's "Football Night in America," drawing praise from former Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward.
