Going into the college football season, many thought the 2027 NFL Draft quarterbacks would be great for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but that has changed.

Still Curtain's Ryan Pawloski argues that the Pittsburgh Steelers should be concerned as the heavily praised 2027 NFL Draft quarterback class is failing to meet expectations. High-profile prospects such as Arch Manning of Texas, Julian Sayin of Ohio State, and Jayden Maiava of USC have struggled with form or injuries, complicating Pittsburgh's potential pursuit of a new franchise passer.
Pawloski notes that Manning is at risk of being benched, while injuries have hindered both Sayin and Oregon's Dante Moore. Other evaluated passers include Notre Dame's CJ Carr, LSU's Sam Leavitt, and South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers, with the writer suggesting several top prospects may need to stay in college rather than enter the draft.
