Steelers send assistant general manager Andy Weidl to scout top 2027 QB prospect

Pittsburgh Steelers assistant general manager Andy Weidl attended Saturday's college football game between Oklahoma State and West Virginia in Morgantown to scout quarterback Drew Mestemaker. The Steelers front office is actively evaluating Mestemaker ahead of the 2027 NFL Draft following his rising draft stock.

Mestemaker completed 20 of 27 passes for 389 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, leading Oklahoma State to a 41-24 victory. Oklahoma State wide receiver Wyatt Young also impressed scouts by catching eight passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns.
