Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey issued a clarifying statement on social media after claiming there is a disconnect between players and head coach Mike McCarthy's staff. Ramsey had remarked that relying solely on playbooks rather than on-field reps created issues when acclimating new teammates following recent roster changes. He subsequently clarified on X that he respects the coaching staff and was merely emphasizing the necessity of practice reps.
The comments followed Pittsburgh's 27-24 defeat against the Cleveland Browns amid a tense week that included trading cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys. Ramsey also strongly denied rumors that he had advised Porter to fake an injury during a contract standoff, as the Steelers prepare to play the Indianapolis Colts on October 11.
