The Packers’ offensive line has been terrible. Can Mekhi Becton and Laken Tomlinson help it?

The Green Bay Packers have signed veteran offensive linemen Laken Tomlinson and Mekhi Becton in an effort to stabilize their struggling pass protection. Through three weeks, quarterback Jordan Love has absorbed 31 hits, the most in the NFL, as injuries and underperformance have severely plagued the offensive line. Head coach Matt LaFleur and offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich noted that both newcomers bring extensive experience, though they face an immediate learning curve.

Tomlinson joined the active roster from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad, while Becton signed to Green Bay's practice squad. Tomlinson offers familiarity with the offensive system after playing under Kyle Shanahan, and Becton brings positional versatility across tackle and guard. Green Bay's coaching staff is assessing whether either lineman will play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they seek to safeguard Love.
