The Baltimore Ravens are close to acquiring veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. Baltimore urgently pursued quarterback depth after starter Lamar Jackson was sidelined indefinitely with a thumb injury requiring surgery, and backup Tyler Huntley was ruled out for the rest of the season due to turf toe.

Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano is set to start for the Ravens on Thursday against Jacksonville, with Brissett expected to take over as the starter on November 15 against the Chargers once the trade is finalized. Brissett started eight games for Arizona this season before being demoted behind Gardner Minshew.
