Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh confirmed on Wednesday that defensive tackle Jordan Elliott was released after pulling a gun in the team facility's parking lot. The incident followed an altercation on the practice field with right tackle JC Latham, leading Elliott to retrieve the weapon from his car. Saleh noted that while team rules mandated the release, he viewed Elliott's action as a cry for help rather than a criminal act.
Latham described the episode as unfortunate and stated there had never been bad blood or prior arguments between the two teammates. Elliott had signed a two-year, $8 million deal with Tennessee in the offseason, recording 11 tackles across five appearances this season before his dismissal.
