49ers cornerback Renardo Green praises Fred Warner's elite instincts, leadership, and football IQ, comparing the linebacker to a custom video game character.
San Francisco 49ers cornerback Renardo Green praised teammate Fred Warner during an appearance on Bay Area radio station KNBR on Tuesday morning. Green described the All-Pro linebacker as one of the top two best football players he has ever played with or seen in person, commending Warner's high-level pre-snap processing, playmaking consistency, and mentality.
Warner has returned to his form during the 2026 season following a season-ending ankle injury suffered last year. Green emphasized that Warner's leadership, composure, and extensive football knowledge provide valuable mentorship to help his teammates process the game and avoid feeling overwhelmed on the field.
