The San Francisco 49ers are reuniting with wide receiver Dante Pettis on a practice squad deal following several injuries across their receiving corps. Pettis, who was drafted by the team in the second round in 2018, worked out for San Francisco on Tuesday before agreeing to return.

The signing provides depth for head coach Kyle Shanahan after injuries sidelined Ricky Pearsall, Christian Kirk, De'Zhaun Stribling, Demarcus Robinson, and Mike Evans. Pettis previously spent time with the Giants, Bears, and Saints after leaving the 49ers in 2020.
