The 49ers have a former quarterback moving on to a new team. Adrian Martinez, who spent time in San Francisco, has signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks have signed former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Adrian Martinez to their practice squad, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Martinez joins the NFC West rival after recently working out for the Baltimore Ravens.
Martinez spent the 2025 season and 2026 offseason with San Francisco before being waived on August 30 during roster cuts. He competed for the third-string job behind Brock Purdy and Mac Jones, but San Francisco chose Kurtis Rourke instead. Martinez originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2023.
