Mac Jones trade rumors were a big part of last offseason, but the 49ers' QB is part of almost none of them leading up to the NFL trade deadline.

Niner Noise writer Peter Panacy argues that the San Francisco 49ers are unlikely to trade backup quarterback Mac Jones before the NFL trade deadline. Despite earlier speculation regarding potential interest from other teams, Panacy notes that a realistic trade market for the quarterback has failed to materialize.
Panacy points out that struggling teams are unlikely to trade draft capital for Jones, as many are heading toward high draft picks or coaching changes. Consequently, Jones is expected to remain in San Francisco for the rest of the season to back up starting quarterback Brock Purdy.
