Texans poach veteran defensive tackle off the 49ers’ practice squad

The Houston Texans are signing veteran defensive tackle Naquan Jones off the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad, according to reporter Aaron Wilson. Jones previously spent time with Houston during training camp before being released in August, subsequently joining the Minnesota Vikings and then the 49ers. He appeared in three games for San Francisco earlier this season to provide cover during defensive tackle injuries.

Jones' departure opens up a vacant practice squad spot for the 49ers ahead of their matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. San Francisco's defensive front is regaining depth following the returns of James Thompson and Mykel Williams, while defensive tackle CJ West is also a candidate to return from injured reserve following the team's bye week.
