Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield is expected to miss two to four weeks due to a rib fracture, head coach Todd Bowles confirmed. The setback adds to the injury troubles for the 0-4 Buccaneers, who will also be without quarterback Baker Mayfield, linebacker SirVocea Dennis, and cornerback Benjamin Morrison for their upcoming Week 5 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Winfield, who has registered 24 tackles through four games this season, is expected to be replaced in the starting lineup by veteran safety Ifeatu Melifonwu. With limited depth at the position behind Tykee Smith and special teams contributor Miles Killebrew, general manager Jason Licht may look to explore free agent options.
