A Tampa Bay Buccaneers veteran is sending a message on his reduced role through the early part of the season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Kenneth Gainwell addressed his role on the team following an 0-3 start to the season. Gainwell noted that increasing his offensive role requires someone who truly understands his skill set in space, similar to his previous stints in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Through three games, he has recorded only 21 rushing yards and 22 receiving yards heading into a Week 4 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
Gainwell joined Tampa Bay on a two-year, $14 million contract in the offseason to serve alongside Bucky Irving. Despite playing 42% of offensive snaps and contributing on special teams, Gainwell stated that while his current usage differs from what he initially envisioned, he remains focused on executing whatever tasks the team requires to secure victories.
