The Story in 60 Seconds

The Dallas Cowboys have officially waived offensive lineman Nick Leverett on Monday following adjustments to their active roster. Leverett, a seven-year NFL veteran and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter, appeared in all five regular-season games for Dallas this season as the team opened with a 2-3 record.

Leverett originally joined the Cowboys' active roster from the practice squad after All-Pro guard Tyler Smith landed on injured reserve with a thumb injury in September. With Smith completing his recovery and returning to the lineup, the Cowboys made the roster space by cutting ties with the veteran lineman.
