Los Angeles gives Browning another opportunity after undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels won the backup job in Tampa Bay.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jake Browning has signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. The signing was reported on Tuesday by Fox Sports reporter Greg Auman and Tom Pelissero. The Chargers are adding the veteran quarterback to their depth chart following an 0-5 start to the season.
Browning had previously competed for the backup role behind Baker Mayfield in Tampa Bay during the 2026 offseason. However, the Buccaneers parted ways with Browning after undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels won the backup quarterback job and later stepped into the starting role due to injuries.
