From negotiations with a division rival about Daron Payne to John Harbaugh’s effort to inquire on Jeffery Simmons — after interest emerged in DeForest Buckner — it is quite clear the Giants are in the defensive line market. New York…

The New York Giants are interested in acquiring Tampa Bay Buccaneers nose tackle Vita Vea before the trade deadline, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Looking to bolster their defensive line under head coach John Harbaugh, the Giants are actively searching the market after previously exploring options such as Daron Payne, Jeffery Simmons, and DeForest Buckner.
A trade remains unlikely because dealing the 31-year-old would leave Tampa Bay with nearly $28 million in dead money following his recent extension. Additionally, the Buccaneers have won two straight games and are competing in the NFC South, though the Giants are still widely expected to acquire defensive line help.
