NFL teams have begun making trades ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline, headlined by deals for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to trade Porter to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-round selection. Meanwhile, the New York Giants acquired McCarthy from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round draft pick.
Porter's move to Dallas concludes a monthslong contract dispute and offseason saga in Pittsburgh. The Giants made their move following left knee surgery for quarterback Jaxson Dart, though head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that Jameis Winston will remain New York's starting quarterback.
