The Commanders just got Jeremy McNichols back. Now they’re faced with losing him again. The veteran running back and the team’s best pass protector from that position is reportedly out multiple months with a foot injury, despite the fact he’s…

Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols is reportedly expected to miss multiple months due to a mid-foot injury sustained in a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed the injury is a serious concern, with the team awaiting further scans. McNichols had only recently returned to action after missing the first five games of the season on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury.
The setback leaves Washington thin at running back, with Austin Ekeler and Rachaad White standing as the team's only healthy rushers. Bill Croskey-Merritt remains sidelined on injured reserve with a groin issue for at least two more games. As a result, the Commanders are expected to promote practice squad options Craig Reynolds or Devin Neal, or pursue an outside addition.
