Washington Commanders veteran running back suffers season-ending injury.

Washington Commanders veteran running back Jeremy McNichols has suffered a season-ending injury and faces potential surgery, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. McNichols adds to a mounting list of significant injuries for the Commanders, which already includes offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, defensive lineman Daron Payne, and Javon Kinlaw.
McNichols, an NFL veteran in his tenth season, had stepped into an expanded backfield role after Washington placed leading rusher Jacory Croskey-Merritt on injured reserve on October 19. Following McNichols' injury, the 2-4-1 Commanders are expected to rely on veteran running backs Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler.
