Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris stated that playing a designated home game in London is economically "not good" and "bad in a lot of ways." Speaking to fans ahead of their Week 4 contest against the Indianapolis Colts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Harris noted that despite the financial drawbacks, his focus remains on growing the international game and representing the NFL.

The Commanders missed out on local ticket revenue from Northwest Stadium, receiving only travel, equipment, and lodging expenses from the league. On the field, Washington lost 30-13 to the Colts after backup quarterback Marcus Mariota aggravated an MCL injury, forcing rookie Athan Kaliakmanis into action.
