The Washington Commanders have adjusted their defensive line roster ahead of hosting the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Defensive tackle Jer'Zhan Newton had his 21-day practice window opened this week but has been ruled out for the game. Additionally, Washington elevated eight-year veteran defensive tackle Byron Cowart to provide depth.
The roster adjustments follow injuries across Washington's defensive interior. DT Daron Payne was ruled out after suffering a Jones fracture in practice, joining DT Javon Kinlaw, who was previously ruled out due to a knee injury.
