The Anaheim Ducks open their season against the Vegas Golden Knights in Las Vegas on Oct. 2. After a postseason run, a restful offseason, and a reworked roster, the team is ready to kick off the campaign.
The Anaheim Ducks open their regular season on October 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights before hosting the Florida Panthers on October 4. The team has named Mikael Granlund as the new team captain, succeeding Radko Gudas, with Leo Carlsson, Alex Killorn, Jackson LaCombe, and Troy Terry serving as alternates. Head coach Joel Quenneville will lead a youthful opening-night roster that includes seven players aged 22 or younger.
Anaheim will manage early injuries as Terry remains sidelined until at least December following offseason hip surgery, while Ian Moore is out two to four weeks. Key events on the Ducks' schedule include Ryan Getzlaf's jersey retirement on January 30 and the 20th anniversary celebration of the 2007 Stanley Cup championship on January 28.
