The Anaheim Ducks have recalled 33-year-old goaltender Laurent Brossoit from the AHL's San Diego Gulls. Head coach Joel Quenneville confirmed that Brossoit will make his team debut in a spot start against the Ottawa Senators. The roster move follows Anaheim waiving veteran defenseman Nick Jensen earlier in the day, with no injuries reported to current netminders Lukáš Dostál or Ville Husso.
Anaheim has struggled defensively, conceding 50 goals across their first 13 games while losing six of their last ten contests. Both Dostál and Husso currently hold save percentages well below .900. Brossoit, who signed a one-year contract in July, receives an opportunity to push Husso for the backup role behind Dostál.
