Charlie McAvoy Ready to Get Back ‘In The Fight’ With Bruins

Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy is set to make his season debut against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night following the completion of a six-game suspension. McAvoy received the ban after slashing Buffalo Sabres forward Zach Benson during the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs. Ahead of the road matchup, head coach Marco Sturm paired the blueliner with Hampus Lindholm during Monday's practice in San Jose.

McAvoy remained with the team throughout training camp and his suspension, skating with the reserve pairings and top power-play unit. The alternate captain recorded a career-high 61 points last season and is set to anchor the blue line as Boston begins a four-game road trip across California and Dallas.
