The Atlantic Division could get a bit easier with the league's reigning MVP asking for a trade from the Lightning.

Tampa Bay Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov has reportedly requested a trade, according to Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman. Nate Duffett of Causeway Crowd argues that Kucherov's potential departure could benefit the Boston Bruins by significantly weakening one of their top Atlantic Division rivals.
Duffett notes that the best outcome for Boston involves Kucherov moving to the Western Conference rather than another divisional opponent. Although a move to an Atlantic rival like the Montreal Canadiens remains a theoretical worst-case risk, the author advocates for the Bruins to stay out of the costly bidding war.
