"They've destroyed the Leafs for 15 years on the ice, and they have embarrassed their front office for 20 years off the ice."

Toronto sports radio host Bryan Hayes argued that Maple Leafs ownership should mandate an end to trades with the Boston Bruins. Speaking on TSN's "OverDrive," Hayes and co-hosts Jamie McLennan and Jeff O'Neill voiced frustration over past transactions between the rival franchises, highlighting the recent emergence of 22-year-old center Fraser Minten in Boston.
Boston acquired Minten and an unprotected first-round pick from Toronto in 2025 for defenseman Brandon Carlo. Hayes classified the Minten trade, the 2006 Tuukka Rask deal, and the 2009 Phil Kessel trade as three of the worst transactions in Maple Leafs franchise history.
