Buffalo's offense has run hot and cold in the early stages of the 2026-27 NHL season, but one popular ex-Sabre is having no trouble lighting the lamp right now.

Former Buffalo Sabres winger Jeff Skinner has made a strong start with Swiss National League club EHC Biel-Bienne, recording nine points (six goals and three assists) in his first seven games. The 34-year-old Canadian forward moved to Europe during the summer after failing to secure a contract in the NHL ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Skinner stated that his move to Switzerland was motivated by the desire to keep playing and have fun while remaining open to potential future NHL opportunities. The writer notes that Skinner previously scored 153 goals across six seasons in Buffalo before stints with the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks.
