Hart and Vezina Trophy winner dealt to Devils for a package of players and prospects…

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been traded to the New Jersey Devils in a permanent deal involving multiple players and draft picks. In exchange for the Hart and Vezina Trophy winner, New Jersey sent center Dawson Mercer, goalie Nico Daws, forward Nick Bjugstad, 2026 first-rounder Alexander Command, and two draft picks to complete the transaction.
The Buffalo Sabres and Utah Mammoth were also pursuing Hellebuyck before the trade materialized. With the rumors resolved, Buffalo netminder Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen—who had reportedly been tied to potential trade talks—remains with the Sabres and is expected to start against Washington on Saturday.
