The Buffalo Sabres can’t seem to escape the injury bug. It’s not hitting with any rhyme or reason, but ailments keep popping up, and the latest is to Konsta Helenius. When head coach Lindy Ruff spoke to reporters on Monday…

Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff announced on Monday that forward Konsta Helenius is considered week-to-week after suffering an upper-body injury against the San Jose Sharks. Fellow forward Zach Benson was also absent from the ice, though the team is hopeful it was merely a maintenance day rather than a serious issue.
Helenius, 20, had tallied one goal and two assists across 11 games this season prior to the injury. In positive news for Buffalo, previously sidelined players Alex Lyon, Conor Timmins, and Jiri Kulich all returned to practice on Monday.
