The Calgary Flames remain winless in their 2026-27 NHL campaign following a 4-2 defeat to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary delivered a strong performance through the first two periods, but an uneven final frame allowed Anaheim to capitalize with a shorthanded goal and secure the road victory.
Morgan Frost scored in the first period, while Aydar Suniev netted his first career NHL goal in the second, with Matt Coronato assisting on both tallies against Ducks goalie Ville Husso. However, special teams proved costly for head coach Ryan Huska's squad as Jackson LaCombe and Ryan Poehling capitalized for Anaheim, extending Calgary's season-opening slump to five games.
