The Flames opening roster all-but-set: Alex Nylander clears waivers and assigned to AHL, nobody new on waivers

Forward Alex Nylander cleared waivers on Sunday and was officially assigned to the AHL's Calgary Wranglers by the Calgary Flames. Following the move, the Flames have 25 players remaining on their training camp roster ahead of Monday's 3 p.m. MT roster deadline, with no additional players placed on waivers.

To reach the required 23-man limit, the Flames are expected to place injured forward Jonathan Huberdeau on injured reserve and assign waiver-exempt forward Aydar Suniev to the Wranglers. These adjustments would secure an opening-night roster spot for forward Brennan Othmann alongside 13 other forwards and eight defensemen.
