The Calgary Wranglers concluded their preseason schedule with a 3-1 loss to the Abbotsford Canucks. Abbotsford took control early behind first-period goals from Vilmer Alriksson and Braeden Cootes. Alex Young tallied Calgary's lone goal of the exhibition season midway through the second period, assisted by Jonathan Castagna and Kyle Walker, before former Wrangler Gavin White restored Abbotsford's two-goal advantage.
Calgary outshot Abbotsford 30-23 overall, generating sustained pressure in the final frame after pulling goaltender Kirill Zarubin for an extra attacker. Despite the loss, several depth skaters stood out, including defenseman Abram Wiebe and forward Sam Morton. The Wranglers and Canucks next face each other for Calgary's regular-season home opener on Friday.
