Canadiens Heritage Classic Preview: Habs Head Outdoors

The Montreal Canadiens are scheduled to play the Winnipeg Jets outdoors in the 2026 NHL Heritage Classic at Princess Auto Stadium on Sunday night. Montreal enters the matchup with a 5-3-2 record, while Winnipeg sits at 4-3-3 on the season. Veteran forward Chris Kreider called outdoor contests a "dog & pony show" where winning is essential to make the spectacle worthwhile.

Montreal is looking to build momentum without captain Nick Suzuki, who remains sidelined, following a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Winnipeg recently traded goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to the New Jersey Devils, receiving several assets and prospect Alexandre Command in return, and is projected to start Stuart Skinner against Montreal netminder Jacob Fowler.
