Logan Stankoven made rare NHL history by recording a natural hat trick in the Carolina Hurricanes' 7-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night. Stankoven scored three consecutive goals—numbers five, six, and seven for Carolina—marking the first hat trick of his professional career.
According to Hurricanes reporter Walt Ruff, Stankoven's achievement was just the 15th recorded natural hat trick featuring an even-strength, power-play, and shorthanded goal. The victory improved Carolina's record to 3-1-1 on the season as they prepare to face the Chicago Blackhawks next.
