Sebastian Aho dominated the scoresheet and a relentless penalty kill stifled Philadelphia as Carolina ground out a gritty road victory to pick up their first win of the season.

The Carolina Hurricanes earned their first victory of the season with a 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night. Sebastian Aho led the Hurricanes with two goals and an assist, while Shayne Gostisbehere secured the victory with a power-play one-timer in overtime off a pass from Jackson Blake.
Carolina dominated the game offensively, outshooting the Flyers 40-18 despite a strong performance from Philadelphia goaltender Joseph Woll. Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov made his return to secure the win, supported by a perfect Carolina penalty kill that stopped all four Philadelphia man advantages.
