Carolina Hurricanes forward Mark Jankowski is thriving this season while filling in for injured captain Jordan Staal. Jankowski has tallied eight goals and 14 points, helping Carolina compile a league-best 13-3-2 record. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour praised Jankowski as a versatile contributor who has successfully taken on increased minutes during Staal's absence.
Brind'Amour has awarded Jankowski a career-high average ice time of 14:38 per game, significantly above his 12:16 career mark. Writer Adam Martin highlights Jankowski as an unsung hero whose resurgence reinforces Carolina's status as a top contender to repeat as Stanley Cup champions.
