The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Dominic Toninato from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs. In a corresponding roster move, the team placed forward Andrew Mangiapane on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury suffered in Chicago's opening game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Mangiapane is reportedly considered week-to-week after playing just over five minutes in the season opener. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old Toninato returns to the NHL club after scoring a goal in Rockford's season opener following strong AHL production.
