Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tom Willander missed his third consecutive game due to a lower-body injury on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers. Elsewhere around the NHL, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly exited Saturday's matchup against the Montreal Canadiens with a lower-body injury after blocking a shot from Nick Suzuki.
Additionally, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Bowen Byram must consult a specialist before returning from an upper-body injury, according to his agent Darren Ferris via Elliotte Friedman. Byram has already missed 10 straight games for Chicago after signing a six-year, $75 million contract during the summer.
