The Colorado Avalanche sent a clear message to the rest of the NHL, as they pounded the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.

The Colorado Avalanche secured a dominant 6-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night. Colorado built a commanding 6-0 lead by late in the second period, holding the Blues to just four shots in the opening frame before St. Louis ended goaltender MacKenzie Blackwood's shutout bid in the third period.
Martin Necas recorded two goals and an assist, Nathan MacKinnon provided three assists, and Cale Makar added a goal for Colorado. The Avalanche capitalized heavily on two notable misplays by Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington, including an empty-net tally by Artturi Lehkonen, before turning their attention to their upcoming matchup against the Winnipeg Jets.
