Colorado Avalanche superstar defenseman Cale Makar will miss Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars after returning to Denver to be with his wife, Tracy, who is in labor with twins. A team spokesman confirmed the news to reporters in Dallas ahead of the first matchup of the home-and-home series.
Makar's status remains unclear for Wednesday's rematch in Denver. In his absence, Noah Juulsen enters the lineup, while Devon Toews assumes top power-play responsibilities and Sam Malinski joins the second power-play unit. Makar has tallied seven points through the first five games of the season.
