The Avalanche are turning to Brett McLean to revive a struggling power play that has failed to match the team’s offensive firepower.
Colorado Avalanche players Nazem Kadri and Parker Kelly shared positive first impressions of new assistant coach Brett McLean following his arrival in Denver. The Avalanche brought in McLean to take charge of and revitalize their struggling power play unit after assistant coach Dave Hakstol departed to take the head coaching position at Arizona State.
Head coach Jared Bednar highlighted McLean's background managing power plays in Vancouver and Minnesota as a key asset. Kadri and Kelly both emphasized the need to build chemistry with McLean quickly, aiming to convert the team's high-end offensive talent into more consistent scoring opportunities with the man advantage.
