Checking in on Sergei Ivanov, who could be the backup goaltender for the Blue Jackets as early as next season.

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltending prospect Sergei Ivanov has experienced a minor dip in form during his loan stint with SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL this season. Through ten games, the 2022 fifth-round draft pick holds a 5-5-0 record, alongside a .912 save percentage and a 2.84 goals-against average, falling slightly behind his numbers from the previous campaign.
Writer Curtis Deem notes that Ivanov is already signed to an entry-level contract and is scheduled to move to North America following the conclusion of his KHL season. Deem anticipates the 23-year-old could potentially debut with the Cleveland Monsters in the spring before competing for the NHL backup role behind Jet Greaves next season.
