According to multiple reports, the Columbus Blue Jackets signed veteran Cam Talbot on Monday. Here’s a look at how the 39-year-old goalie has the chance to help in more ways than one.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed veteran goaltender Cam Talbot to a one-year, $950,000 contract that includes up to $700,000 in performance bonuses. General Manager Don Waddell confirmed the signing on Monday, emphasizing the team's priority to add depth in net.
The 39-year-old netminder joins Columbus following two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, providing cover after Elvis Merzlikins underwent shoulder surgery. Talbot is expected to serve as a veteran backup alongside Jet Greaves, who has taken over the starting goaltender duties.
