Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kent Johnson is having a bounce-back year, and it was desperately needed. He's on pace for 42 goals and 84 points. Will he finish with those numbers? It's possible.
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kent Johnson has emerged as one of the NHL's all-time top shootout performers after scoring the winner against the Stars. With that goal, Johnson improved his career shootout success rate to 63.2 percent, placing him third in NHL history behind Petteri Nummelin and Mason McTavish. Blue Jackets head coach Rick Bowness stated that Johnson is probably the best shootout player he has ever coached.
Johnson has scored on 12 of his 19 career attempts, with half serving as game-deciding goals. He also ranks third in Blue Jackets franchise history in shootout goals, trailing only Cam Atkinson and all-time leader Rick Nash.
